Privacy Policy
Effective: June 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how FreeWallHub ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use this website. We've tried to write it in plain English so you can actually understand it.
1. The short version
- We don't ask you to create an account.
- We log basic, anonymous request data to count page views and improve the site.
- The image tools (converter, compressor, resizer, cropper, rotator) run entirely in your browser — your files never reach our servers.
- The Favorites feature stores wallpaper IDs in your browser's local storage, on your device only.
- We display ads via Google AdSense; AdSense uses cookies to show relevant ads.
- We never sell, rent, or share your personal data.
2. Information we collect
a) Server logs
Like most websites, our servers automatically log standard request information: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, page visited and time of visit. These logs help us debug issues, count traffic and detect abuse. They are retained for up to 30 days and never matched to a personal identity.
b) Page analytics
We track aggregated, anonymous page-view counts to understand which content is popular. This data is not personally identifiable.
c) Local-only storage
Your "Favorites" and (if you set one) Auto-Changer preferences are saved in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
d) Contact form
If you message us via the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. We use it solely to reply to your inquiry.
3. Cookies & similar technologies
We use the absolute minimum cookies needed for the site to function. The categories of cookies we use are:
- Essential — session cookies and CSRF protection (drop the moment you close your browser).
- Functional — remember settings such as Auto-Changer interval (browser localStorage, not cookies).
- Advertising — set by Google AdSense and its partners. See section 4.
4. Advertising — Google AdSense
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense. AdSense and its third-party advertising partners may set or read cookies on your browser to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. They may also use device identifiers and other identifiers for the same purpose.
You can:
- Opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of third-party cookies at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
- Read more about Google's data practices at Google Partner Policies.
5. Children's privacy (COPPA)
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
6. GDPR — your rights (EEA / UK)
If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, GDPR / UK GDPR gives you the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to processing or restrict it.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact page.
7. CCPA — California residents
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
8. Data retention
We keep server logs for up to 30 days. Contact-form messages are retained until the inquiry is resolved, typically up to 12 months. Anonymous page-view counters have no expiry.
9. Security
We use HTTPS encryption across the entire site. Passwords (admin only) are stored using bcrypt one-way hashing. We do not store payment data.
10. Third-party links
Pages on this site may link to third-party websites. We have no control over their content or privacy practices. Once you click an external link, that site's policies apply.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the latest version. Significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage.
12. Contact
For any questions about this policy or your data, please use the contact form.
